Are you a dancer or a musician interested or

experienced in world music and how to develop
cultural education workshop sessions?

If so Essex County Council’s (ECC) Cultural team and Essex
Cultural Diversity Project (ECDP) have teamed up with
WOMAD to create a 1 ½ day CPD music and dance workshop
opportunity for dancers and musicians experienced, or
interested in world music.

When: Day 1, Thursday 29 October 2015, 13.30 – 16.00
Day 2, Friday 30 October 2015, 9.30 – 16.00

Where: Colchester Arts Centre and Bunting Rooms
(Schedule TBC – participants will arrive at
Colchester Arts Centre and be guided from there)

What: Artists, Mauricio Velasierra (Colombian), Ripton Lindsay
(Jamaica) and Annie Menter (Consultant and Creative producer
with The WOMAD Foundation) will be leading these sessions.

Session one will be an afternoon focussing on discussion and
practical workshops looking at different ways to bring culturally
specific music projects into school and community settings.

Day two will be a chance to put these skills into practice.
Mauricio and Ripton will lead sessions with the artists who took
part in the previous CPD session. More detailed information is
contained on the next page.
