Essex Cultural Diversity Project have been awarded £12,500 from Arts Council England for a new creative project –

The Music Train project will take place on an underused Crouch Valley, Wick ford to Southminister Railway Line in Essex.  The line takes in villages and hamlets in a rural location in Essex, and is an essential line for the people that live there.  passengers will be invited to hop on and hop off the train to participate, watch and enjoy a range of workshops including music, workshops, dance and spoken word.   Performances will take place at the full range of areas within the stations from ticket office to waiting rooms, and two specific performances that will take place on the 11.06 and 1.06pm trains. The programme will consist of world music performances by Essex based cultural diverse artists Brazilarte performing Brazilian Samba, Efua Sey Cultural Academy African Djembe drumming & Josh Doughty the African Kora

The project is also supported by Essex County Council Cultural Development and  The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership
